'Yeosu Romantic Pocha,' where tourists can enjoy foods and romantic night view seeing Yeosu Night Sea.
According to Yeosu-si, 13.16 million tourists visited Yeosu last year and Yeosu achieved 13 million tourists for two years in a row. And for this, Yeosu Romantic Pocha as well as Yeosu Night Sea, Romantic Busking and Unusual City Tour are analyzed to have played a big role.
17 street vendors are operated in the Romantic Pocha and tourists can enjoy various sea foods with night landscape of Dolsandaegyo Bridge and Yeosu night sea.
Yeosu-si started operating the Romantic Pocha from May to vitalize the original downtown and create a premium specialized street which has taste, flavor, and romantic view through the connection with Yeosu night sea. Since then, thanks to viral ads through SNS, it was televised through KBS2 program 'Documentary Tree Days' on the 15th and is now drawing national attention.
Yeosu Romantic Pocha is evaluated to contribute to regional economic vitalization through increase of consumption of local specialties. Especially, the owners of the pocha carry out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities such as donation of about 49 million KRW, which was 3% of annual sales amount.
Yeosu-si will make best efforts to attract tourists by holding food fair and contest for more delicious menu and conducting hygiene and kindness education for pocha operators.
