Yeosu Announces Top 10 Administrative Achievements of the Year
- Conducted survey on 2,000 citizens and public officials and selected 10 most preferred achievements
- No.1 achievement was special 15% discount on Seomseom Yeosu Pay, with focus on project with high citizen awareness
Yeosu (Mayor : Jung Gi-myeong) has announced the “Yeosu Top 10 Administrative Achievements of 2024” with high administrative contributions and citizen awareness based on the opinions of citizens.
The survey results were as follows : ▲ A special 15% discount of 28 billion won on Yeosu card voucher, fusing vitality to citizen economy ▲ Construction of public parking lots in residential and commercial areas ▲Operation of high-speed ferry for Yeosu-Geomun route. These projects with high public awareness were listed in the top ranks.
These projects were followed by the following projects : ▲Construction of “Annex Building” for city hall to improve public service ▲ Winning of “Project for Night Tourism City” ▲ Creation of barefoot trail at Mipyeong Bonghwasan Mountain Forest Park to lay foundation for healthy city ▲ Launching of “Yeosu Bay Renaissance Project with Citizen” for next 100 years of Yeosu ▲ Securing 2025 national budget of 466.3 billion won (reflected 68%) to overcome local financial crisis ▲Launching of youth housing rental project ▲ Opening of Korea’s first “National Yeosu Marine Meteorological Science Museum”
Yeosu reviewed 76 policies submitted by the related departments, selected 20 of them, and conducted an online-survey for 8 days, from November 22 to November 29, targeting citizens and public officials.
A total of 2,002 people participated in the survey via citizen communication platforms and other means. To reflect more citizen opinions, only 50% of the public official votes were counted.
Mayor Jung Gi-myeong said, “For upcoming 2025, we will keep up the speedy administration to promote Beautiful Yeosu Seaport Vision as a southern coast’s hub city and enhance the happiness of citizens.”
In addition to top 10 achievements, following projects won significant citizen support with high vote rates : ▲ Expansion of pregnancy celebration grants ▲ Opening of a public indoor playground in Yeosu ▲ Designation of Yeosu Yeojaman Mudflat as new wetland protection area ▲ Construction of Yeosu-Suncheon Incident Memorial Hall.
