Yeosu City Extends Tourism Response Team for “Phased Return to Normalcy”

Extended Operation Starting from November for Increasing Tourists…15 Teams and 65 Staff at Field on Weekends
Yeosu City (Mayor : Kwon Ohbong) announced that Yeosu City will be extending the “Tourism Response Team” for the safety of citizens and tourists in response to the phase 1 of National Recovery Plan.
Last November 1st, Yeosu City decided to extend “Tourism Response Team” which was scheduled to be closed as of October 31 because more tourists will be visiting Yeosu for the “Phased Return to Normal Life”.
The Tourism Response Team is composed of 15 teams including situation team, citizen complaint handling team, traffic team, food hygiene team, and public toilet team. The Tourism Response Team involved 35 non-regular workers and 30 public officials from 13 departments were involved.
The Tourism Response Team will be mainly handling the complaint of tourists and checking on the disinfection guidelines at main tourist sites.
In addition to Tourism Response Team, Yeosu City will continue to have 50 disinfection management staff until December.
Furthermore, Yeosu City plans to encourage the voluntary participation from citizens and tourists by actively promoting the core disinfection guidelines that must be complied with even during “Phased Return to Normalcy” such as wearing masks, ventilating, and disinfecting on a regular basis at 22 main tourist sites for the
The staff from Yeosu City said “We hope that the revised social distancing plans for Phased Return to Normalcy would invigorate the depressed tourism industry. Since we still need the strong disinfection system for the complete return to normalcy, we ask for tourism businesses, citizens, and tourists to comply with the disinfection guidelines.”
In October 19, Yeosu City held pandemic prevention meeting with the interested parties from the tourism facility and related departments in response to “Living with COVID-19”. Yeosu City is taking the preemptive measures for the changing tourism policies by sharing opinions with revitalizing tourism and listening to difficulties associated with facility disinfection.
