○ The opening ceremony of Yeosu English Village located within Yeosu Western Elementary School was held with the participation of Governor, superintendent of educational affairs, school masters across the region, English teachers and parents of students on Dec. 27th 2005 15:00PM.

○ Yeosu Office of Education has launched Yeosu English Village aiming at enhancing the status of Yeosu as a bidding candidate for 2012 Yeosu World EXPO and upgrading the citizens’ Englich skill. There are 8 English Experience facilities including airport, house, department store, hospital, bank, post office and taxi platform as well as mart, hotel and restaurant. As part of subsidiary facilities are R&D center for teachers and lecture rooms.

○ Meanwhile, Yeosu English Village has been made for citizens so that they have more chance to speak and learn English as part of the preparation activities for the successful bidding. It is expected to play a significant role in promoting the bidding activities.
