- One-thousand people attended Yeosu Citizen’s Hall on April 16
A ceremony to launch Yeosu City’s promotion committee for the ‘I do first, First Movement’ to realize the Renaissance of Yeosu was held at Yeosu Citizen’s Hall on the April 16, 2008.
Yeosu City launched the promotion committee and held a promise rally to establish the ‘I do first, First Movement’ as a citizen-led movement, and foster an atmosphere of practicing with one thousand citizens.
Yeosu Municipal Orchestra for Traditional Korean Music performed the traditional percussion quarter and the promotion movie about the ‘I do first, First Movement’ were presented in this ceremony.
In the following event, the flag for the ‘I do first, First Movement’ was delivered to Mayor Oh Hyun-Sup by Lee Jung-Hwan, the head of the Ssangbong-dong to declare the movement’s meaning and resolution.
Mayor Oh said, “This movement will be extended to the all of our citizens to successfully prepare for the 89th National Sports Festival’ and the 2012 World Expo in Yeosu.”
Kim Jong-ik, the committee chairman, encouraged all citizens to participate in working for Yeosu’s new prosperity and in building a first-class city.
Citizen Representatives promised that they would take the initiative to open the Renaissance era of Yeosu by promoting the ‘I do first, First Movement.’
On that day, members of city council, senior superintendent of Yeosu police station, representatives of companies in Yeosu industrial complex, presidents of related organizations, members of promotion committee, and practice committee members in Eup, Myeon and Dong offices.
