Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea International Symposium is held in Incheon Sheraton Hotel and Songdo Convensia on September 29 under the theme of “Smart Utilization and Development in the Ocean.” The purpose of the symposium was to explore visions for maritime cities in Korea based on successful overseas examples of maritime city development leading to improved national competitiveness

The symposium was attended by world-class scholars including Barrie Stevens, the head of the OECD’s International Futures Programme, Prof. Christopher Bene of Success University, and FAO’s Simon Funge-Smith.
