Park Ji-Sung, a.k.a. "Oxygen Tank," Named as Honorary Ambassador for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea

Professional soccer player Park Ji-Sung, dubbed "oxygen tank" for his inexhaustible play for his team, Manchester United, was appointed as an honorary ambassador for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea on February 15, in the pressroom of Manchester United. His appointment follows that of Korean pop singer, IU.
The Organizing Committee presented Park with the appointment plaque as well as a volunteer t-shirt and dolls of the official mascots of Yeosu Expo, Yeony and Suny. Park also filmed a video clip to encourage participation in and visits to Yeosu Expo. The video will be unveiled on the official website of Yeosu Expo (www.expo2012.kr).
During the appointment ceremony, Park said, "I will do my best to raise the profile of Yeosu Expo around the world," adding, "I'd like to visit and enjoy the Expo myself once the Premier League schedule is over in May."
As an honorary ambassador of Yeosu Expo, Park will participate in various promotional activities including press interviews and commercial shoots.
Lee Dong-Woo, Director for Marketing Support of the Organizing Committee, commented, "Park Ji-Sung is the icon who promotes Korea throughout the world," adding, "I have great expectations about his active performance as an honorary ambassador. No doubt he will perform his ambassador duties with the same ‘oxygen tank' performance he uses on the soccer field."
Park Ji-Sung is a Korean soccer player, who has been playing for the English soccer team Manchester United since July 2005. Park was also appointed as an honorary ambassador for the G20 Seoul Summit, the Korea International Boat Show & Korea Match Cup, the Anti-cyberbullying Movement, and Korea's 2022 FIFA World Cup bid.
