Luxurious hotels to open in Yeosu ahead of Expo
Luxurious hotels with oceanic views will make a debut in Yeosu in as early as April, a month before EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea.
The construction of the hotels, including the Hidden Bay Hotel, U-Castle Hotel and Benikea Hotel, is going on all over the coastal city.
Overlooking the magnificent Gamak Bay, the 10-story Hidden Bay Hotel in Sinwol-dong has 131 guest rooms along with a convention center with 600 seats, restaurant, gym and a pool.
The U-Castle Hotel in Sora-myeon has 70 rooms, a convention center accommodating 700 people, business center, wedding hall and a VIP meeting room.
The 14-story Benikea Hotel in Hakdong has 50 rooms and facilities such as a Korean restaurant and meeting room.
"The hotels are expected to help Yeosu successfully host the expo," a city official said.
Yeosu City will have 44,613 rooms ready within one-hour distance from the expo site, while the number of rooms needed for one day during the international fair is expected to be 35,738.
Yeosu City said it would provide a variety of accommodation such as a cruise ship hotel, home stay, temple stay and church stay.
