Taste the Essence of French Vertical Dance
Performance by “Retouramont” From May 28… Philosophical Messages Expressed Through Body Movements
Retouramont, a French vertical dance company, is set to perform at the Aquarium of Yeosu Expo starting from Monday, May 28th. The French group is a leading vertical dance group in Europe and has been very active in French and other European dance scenes for more than 20 years. They have previously performed on various Korean stages including Hi Seoul Festival, Chun-cheon Mime Festival and Garden Five.
Retouramont’s show is consisted of artistic dance moves created by human bodies hanging from the ceiling and philosophical messages presented to the audience throughout the performance. The company will perform the show “In Vivo” (Latin for “within the living”) at Yeosu, in which the dancers wander around a set of building structures, memories of the residents, pedestrians and leave invisible footsteps behind to breathe new life into dead creatures.
The show will be seen at the Aquarium of the Yeosu Expo, and be presented as an additional feature to the ongoing play by Korean vertical dance performance group “Nalda”.
“Retouramont is a renowned dance company from France with deep-rooted tradition in vertical dance, and we expect that they will add a fun, high-quality, and sensational element to the overall Yeosu experience”, said Kim Yong-Gyu, director of the street performance department of the organizing committee of Yeosu Expo.
