Scrapped Car to be Reborn as Art



German Performance “AUTO AUTO” is set to be staged

from June 11 to 13 at Yoesu Expo




What you hear when you close a car door or polish a car are transformed into a fantastic performance. A unique German performance featuring a beat-up old car, called “AUTO AUTO” is set to be staged at the Expo Hall inside the Yeosu Expo site from June 11 to 13.


Two performance artists from Hamburg, Christian von Richthofen and Leonard Valentin Lazar, produce interesting and unique sounds with a scrapped car.


They create a witty lyric with the sound coming from a car door closure and car waxing to express an autobahn, traffic congestion and vehicle maintenance inspection. The performance will present the audience the very essence of German humor with a blend of slapstick comedy and various genres of music including jazz, swing, rock and classical music.
