Online Reservation System to be Resumed
Reservations are available for 30% of visitors of 8 pavilions
from 6 am on June 23
□ The Organizing Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea announced that it would reopen the online reservation system for eight pavilions starting from June 23, 6:00 am.
* Those eight pavilions are: Theme Pavilion, Korea Pavilion, Climate & Environment Pavilion, Marine City & Civilization Pavilion, Marine Industry & Technology Pavilion, DSME Marine Robot Pavilion, Aquarium and 3D Theatre of Aquarium
○ On June 23, reservations can be made for dates from June 28 to July 6. Every night at 12:00 am, the advance reservation period will be extended by a day from the above dates.
※ Reservations for dates up to June 27 had already been made on the day when the reservation system was abolished on May 28.
□ The advance booking is only available online for 30 percent of visitor capacity of the eight pavilions each, and for the time period of 1:00 to 8:00 pm (seven hours in total).
○ The current first-come-first-served system will continue to be in effect in the morning time (until 1:00 pm) to give opportunities for visitors, who come to the Expo site early in the morning and wait in a line, to enter the eight pavilions.
○ After 1:00 pm, the online reservation system will be applied, so that long-distance travelers, who find it hard to arrive at the Expo venue early in the morning, get chances to look around their favorite pavilions without long wait times.
□ Inconveniences, suffered by visitors who made a reservation under the previous system, will also be resolved with the new system.
○ While reservations were made only with 15-digit numbers printed on the admission ticket,
- The new system will allow visitors to book exhibitions with the numbers given for pavilion reservation at the time of online purchase of an admission ticket. Reservations are available with the numbers marked on the admission ticket, as well.
* Visitors who booked exhibitions before June 19 and were not given the numbers for pavilion reservation can check and obtain the numbers on the Expo official site.
○ Under the previous online reservation system, some visitors suffered inconvenience since reservations could only be canceled until 6:00 pm on the previous day of the trip.
- The new system allows reservations to be canceled beyond the above-mentioned time.
○ Visitors can also print out their ticket reservations on the net under the new system.
□ An official from the Organizing Committee added that, “we apologize for the inconveniences and confusion that visitors had to go through due to the sudden halt of reservation system that was announced on May 27th,” and continued to express his hopes by saying, “although it is difficult to meet everyone’s requirement in allocating time and space for those who visit the Expo, we believe that, as we resumed the reservation service taking opinions submitted through numerous channels, the revised reservation system will be able to balance and satisfy the needs of visitors of various groups and ages”.
