Big-O Show to be Staged Twice a Day
on Friday and Saturday
The show might be performed twice a day on weekdays and Sundays depending on visitor turnout
The Big-O show, a spectacular multimedia show exclusively presented at the Yeosu Expo, is set to be staged twice a day on Friday and Saturday. The show time is also going to be changed for the convenience of time-pressed visitors.
The Organizing Committee for Yeosu Expo 2012 Korea announced on 24th that it would stage the Big-O show twice a day on Fridays and Saturdays which are the most popular days for visitors. The show might be performed twice a day on weekdays and Sundays, if there are too many evening visitors.
The Committee also announced that it changed the show time for the Big-O show to 8:50~9:20 pm, to enhance convenience for visitors who want to tour Yeosu city after looking around the Expo site or for those who are pressed for time to take KTX, South Korea's high-speed rail, to return home. The second performance of the Big-O show, on the day when it is given twice, will take place from 9:40 pm to 10:10 pm.
The Big-O show, which is one of the most popular and unique contents at the Yeosu Expo, is a fabulous multimedia show that features a young girl who sets out on a trip to the sea. It is gaining popularity with spectacular images projected onto the world’s largest water curtain of 47 meters, columns of water 70 meters high and fires coming out of the Big-O structure.
The story resonates with people of all ages, genders and races, and brings them all together to convey the theme of the Yeosu Expo, “Living Ocean and Coast.”
Nam Jae-heon, head of Big-O Project Team, said that “every visitor who comes to the Expo wants to enjoy the Big-O show, but many of them failed to do so as the show is put on a stage only once a day and it is mostly very crowded with so many visitors. The changes to the performance schedule will allow more visitors to enjoy a fantastic Big-O show.”
The Big-O show, which came into being after three years of hard work by experts around the world, welcomes around 10,000 audiences per performance. The show will be entered in the “Thea Awards”, presented by Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) which is the world’s renowned association for the themed entertainment industry, and is highly expected to win for the “Show of the Year” for the first time as Korean show.
