Yeosu city, which faced the era of ten million tourists is going to activate tourism by giving incentives to travel agencies who attract group tours.
The authority of city government will categorize two types of sightseeing- Recreational day trip & Lodging tourism- and will give incentives till the 31st of Dec, 2014.
In case of lodging tourism, if more than twenty domestic people stay one night, 8,000won will be given, and 15,000won will be given up to for two nights.
If more than 5 foreign people stay, 12,000won will be given for one night and 25,000won will be given for two nights.
For more than 50 people of group, 3,000won will be given for one night and 6,000won will be given for two nights. However, the group has to visit more than two sightseeing spots in the city and use more than two local restaurants in order to be supported.
For the recreational day trip, more than 20 domestic people and 5 foreigners and more than 50 people of tour group can use one local restaurant and two local sightseeing spots in order to be received.
Travel agencies who want to be supported shall submit ‘Advance plan to attract customers’ and ‘Itinerary’ before 7days of tour.
And, after finishing tour, travel agencies can get paid back if they submit the relevant documents such as application form of reimbursement for attracting tourists by post or visit directly the department of tourism in Yeosu city.
The manager of tourism department in Yeosu city said “This incentive program will help not only publicize the excellent tourism resources but also activate local economy. And the city government will do its best in order to develop tourism product, contents and attract ten million tourists.”
However, Yeosu si supported 275 million won for accommodation fee to twenty eight travel agencies and 25 million won for the budget of publicizing the travel packages (K-shuttle).
