The theme of festival is ‘The Excitement of the International Youth’s meets with Yeosu’ to be held for 6 days.
The culture festival, sharing the excitement and dreams beyond the borders, is to be held in Yeosu.
According to Yeosu city, the 14th Yeosu International Youth Festival is to be held from 29th of July to 3rd of August in the whole area of downtown.
Various cultural and experiential programs will be held under the theme ‘The Excitement of the International Youth’s meets with Yeosu’ and the slogan ‘Youth! the Islands moving to the future’ in this festival.
400 youths from USA, Germany, France, China and Philippine will participate. The program will be divided into international exchange camp and main festival.
Main program, which Youth planning and management team will participate, will introduce the participation of youths by making spaces for experiencing and displaying. Also, programs which can be issued nationally consist of the festival.
The international exchange camp, to be held as a beforehand event for 3 days (Jul 29th~Jul 31th) will begin with starting ceremony, which 400 youth will participate, and will last for 6 days.
Culture tour representing Yeosu and experiential program which Yeosu-city is proud of, consist of international exchange camp. Also, the management group consisting of cultural tourism interpreter, local experts and camp participants will participate directly in this program.
In the main international exchange programs, participants will be the one through Domino-wall, conducted by recreation instructor after being organized into groups and starting ceremony on 29th of July.
On 30th and 31st of July, ‘Tour of ecology education center’ and culture tour programs such as Jinnamgwan. fish market, sea rail bike programs, which represents, Yeosu-city, will be executed according to the groups.
Also, entertainment programs such as ‘Yeosu Running Man’, which participant finds 10 selected hot spots such as Goso-dong’s Chansa Mural Village, Manseong-ri Beach, Dolsan Bridge and Hamel Exhibition Center and carries out missions will be performed. Also, ‘Yeosu Food Mission’, which participant finds, have foods in 10 hot spots famous for foods and returns with receipts, will be performed.
The main event to be performed from Aug 1st to Aug 3rd, harmony ceremony, contest, Yeosu-city night tour, world heritage parade and fashion shows of world traditional clothes will be held.
And then, in the main stage of digital gallery located in the Yeosu Expo Park, fireworks display, where participants and Yeosu citizens participate, and K-POP performance will be held.
Also, cultural experiential programs which Yeosu Youth Forum, Yeosu YMCA, YWCA and Yeosu branch association of Korea Youth fostering association will participate, and world heritage parade, fashion shows of traditional clothes will be performed.
Besides, finalists which went through pre-selection in the music and dance will sing songs. Contests of hiphop, popping, B-Boy dance battles, awarding ceremony and closing ceremony will be held to finish the Youth Festival of 5nights and 6days.
