SNS Shinmungo(E-Office through SNS with Mayor is installed... Civil Evaluation system and Civil committee is introduced
'The 1st Marine industrial complex in Korea' will be established... Public education will be reinforced by establishing the elite private high school.
"Sailing of the 6th mayor of Yeosu-city, Ju Cheolhyeon, elected by popular vote is the great victory of 300,000 citizens of Yeosu-city".
Ju Cheolhyeon's strong cry was full-throated in the Yeosu Civic Center, where the inauguration ceremony was held on the 1st of July.
In this simple inauguration ceremony considering the mourning atmosphere, 1500 people such as workers, physically-challenged people, multi-cultural family, street cleaners, farmers&fishermen and old people participated in this ceremony.
Especially, Ju Cheolhyeon, the new mayor presented a flower bouquet to the ex-mayor, Kim Chungseok, in honor of thanking for his contribution so it was very meaningful ceremony.
The mayor Ju expressed his strong will that he will do his best in order to develop Yeosu city and to make citizens happy under the theme "Citizens, you are the mayors".
the mayor Joo expressed four main policies as follows:
▲Communicating Yeosu ▲Active Yeosu ▲Happy and Safe Yeosu ▲ Beautiful Sea, Yeosu
These plans will be executed under the new politics-'Communication' and 'Harmony' through various projects, which the mayor Ju emphasizes.
Firstly, he expressed his vision, 'Communicating Yeosu' where citizen's will become policies and common sense work
SNS Sinmungo(E-office), which citizens can communicate with mayor directly, will be installed, civil evaluation system and civil committee will be introduced.
Local community issues will be decided and adjusted through cooperation and decision.
This is the will that the mayor will accept civil opinion and respect the city council as much as he can so that the mayor can show the participation and communication.
Secondly, he emphasized that he will do his best in order to build 'Active Yeosu' where people gather.
He mentioned that the will build Yeosu where various industries are harmonized with good job opportunities. He will also makes Yeosu as a growing city which education and welfare blossom.
Especially, in order to make local fisher industries blossom, he will build the first Marine Industrial Complex in order to make active fishing industries.
Actual plans to resolve long-cherished wishes of local education will be prepared.
By establishing elite private school, he will make good conditions for education and plan to improve educational environment.
It is expected that this plan will be the fundamental alternative plan in order to resolve leakage problems of local excellent students and to reinforce local human resources.
Also, in order to provide necessary human resources to Yeosu Industrial Complex, he suggested to introduce industry-related departments to the university to resolve employment problems and population problems.
Various plans to resolve population leakage problems are prepared. For example, university hospial will be attracted and residential conditions will be improved for residence and social welfare service.
Thirdly, he will concentrate on building 'happy and safe Yeosu' with all of his administrative powers
He mentioned that he will realize the people&welfare centered Yeosu in order to make various classes such as the physically-handicapped and multicultural families under the various benefits of social welfare.
He also mentioned that he will strengthen social safety network in order for children/physically challenged people and workers can work and live happily. He will also do his best to build a supporting system for safety system to compensate the damages people would get.
Fourthly, he will make 'Beautiful Sea, Yeosu' with the international marine touristic attractions.
By utilizing social infrastructures and world-famous recognition through the World Expo, he will build a four-season type healing&well-being city.
He also mentioned that he would build a city so that citizens can enjoy convenient and comfortable city life by establishing beach cafes, artistic streets and color villages and so on so he will contribute to making tour contents and activate downtown by making tourists visit with touristic infrastructures such as World EXPO.
Also, he told that he will build Geomundo, Baekdo, Geumodo islands as eco-touristic places. He also told that Gyeongdo-dong and Soho-dong will be built as marine sports complex. For Yeojaman Bay and Hwayang area, he will build as resort and leisure area to impress tourists.
He also left a message of communication and harmony for the bureaucratic society.
The mayor Ju said, "We are one family and group sharing a destiny". "Please do your best in order to build a 'New Yeosu' where citizens are owners of the city."
Above all, he mentioned that he will take all the responsibilities for all unreasonable pressures and duties from outside as a representing official of Yeosu city.
