The Construction of the Welfare Hub for Sharing Happiness in Yeosu City – Realization of the Happiness City for the Residents
The City planned to promote the launching ceremony of ‘the Welfare Hub for Sharing Happiness’ for the vulnerable class in the 27 Eup·Myeon·Dong districts starting with Sora-myeon and Mipyung-dong on this 13th until the end of June. Along with this it planned to discover the target residents for welfare by reinforcing the human safety network that is suitable for the character of each Eup·Myeon·Dong district with the civil·governmental cooperation, and to promote this in the way where the village residents can voluntarily participate in the pending welfare problem in the district, and the connection among the systems can be activated.For this purpose the City revised the related regulations such as Ri·Tong Chief Welfare Helper, Ban Chief Village Attendant last April, and made Ri·Tong Chiefs perform the duty as a Welfare Helper other than the existing duties.Also it endowed Ban Chiefs with the duty of a Village Attendant to discover the blind spot of welfare through the visit of homes and to grasp the recent condition of vulnerable residents for the proper countermeasure. .The concerned party of the City said that “it will do its best to get rid of a sense of alienation and deprivation of the vulnerable residents and to raise the index of happiness for the residents by the advanced welfare measure with the civil·governmental cooperation.”On the other hand Yeosu City is taking the lead in the realization of the custom-made welfare for the local residents with an administrative slogan, ‘Beautiful Yeosu, A Happy City.’ Especailly it was chosen for the civil·governmental cooperative activation enterprise of Ministry of Health and Welfare last March, and the model enterprise for the 2 districts of Moonsu-dong and Nam-myeon was launched for the prospect of resident welfare enhancement.
