Yeosu-si, Achieves 13 Million Tourists Two Years in a Row

Yeosu-si said the tentative calculation of the number of tourists who visited Yeosu last year was 13.16 million.
By achieving 13 million tourists two years in a row, Yeosu is solidifying its position as an ocean tourist city which represents Korea.
On top of famous tourist attractions such as Odongdo Island and Hyangiram Hermitage, the tourist products onto which new tourist contents have been grafted, such as marine cable car, cruise ship and rail bike, are gaining popularity a lot.
Those successful results are analyzed to result from the efforts of Yeosu which has developed Yoesu's own various tourist products such as Yeosu night sea, romantic busking, romantic street vendor, unique city tour, Geobukseon festival, and fireworks festival and implemented aggressive promotional marketing strategy to attract tourist.
Yeosu-si is recognized as a true marine tourist city as shown from the fact that it was selected as the 'Star of Korea Tourism' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last year and won four awards in marine tourist city category in various brand evaluations.
This year in particular, Yeosu will stabilize the price of restaurants and accommodations, settle the kind service culture, and expand the marine leisure sports experience tourist program. It first will proceed with 'Namdo Sea Route' project, which was selected as one of 'The tourist of Korea's theme 10'. And it will continuously develop new tourist products using Yeosu night sea view such as extended operation of city tour connected with romantic busking.
