‘Yeosu Yeongchwisan Mountain Azalea Festival’ is to be held at the nation’s largest azalea habitat-Yeongchwisan Mountain for three days from the upcoming 31st..
This festival marking the 25th one this year will be hosted and supervised by the Yeonsu Yeongchwisan Azalea Preservation Association and Yeosu Yeongchwisan Azalea Promotion Committee; particularly, this festival is to be arranged with multifarious, unusual participatory events.
With the beginning of the ritual for a mountain god praying for ‘National Prosperity and Welfare of the People, Bumper Year & a Big Catch and Industrial Safety’ on the 31st, performances like youth dance contest, and mountaintop concert, and diverse hands-on experience events such as azalea essay contest, drawing contest, bird nest hanging experience, and digital oil painting experience, etc. are to be unfolded.
There are also newly added events from this year. A social enterprise booth will be operated in the venue to grace the festival with the vulnerable social group, and also a program will be arranged for tourists to recite a poem associated with azalea in person in connection with the mountaintop concert.
In an effort to support smooth festival progress, the Yeosu municipal government organized a response team by field, such as medical support team, and cleaning response team, etc. In addition, the same government is scheduled to arrange temporary parking places at five spots and to minimize traffic inconvenience by running 4 shuttle buses heading for the venue.
We are looking forward to more participation of citizens and tourists in the Yeongchwisan Mountain Azalea Festival where participants can enjoy a variety of programs together with the full-blown azalea.
