Limited input into automatic collector, '200 units a day' for recycling goods in Yeosu City
On September 9, Yeosu City told to limit the input into 'automatic collector for recycling goods' in '200 units per day' from September 23. The City reached to take action after receiving civil petition of difficulty in using the collector by excessive input of recycling goods to the collector by some citizens. An automatic collector is a vending machine style robot which select and tamp the cans and pet bottles automatically, rejects the other goods. It has been installed at Yeosu City Hall, Turtle Ship Park, Yeomun Park, Lee Soon-shin Square, Maritime Park and EXPO site. Operation for 3 months from May till August recorded the accumulator over 1 million Won and it receives a big response from citizens for additional installation. To use it, press the start button on display and put the cans and pet bottles, and the robot recognizes and classifies the waste, and then input the mobile phone number. Request the point conversion after joining for the member of Super Bin homepage(www.superbin.co.kr/).Respective 15 and 10 points for a can and a pet bottle are cumulated and the points over 2,000 can be converted to cash to the personal bank account. A city official requested, "for the citizens to understand and cooperate as it is to achieve the waste reduction and resource recycling" and "will add more automatic collectors in the future."
