On January 30, Yeosu City revealed the attraction of the large scale MICE events of International System-On Chip Design Academic Seminar and Korea Chemical Engineering International Academic Seminar on October 2020. The International System-On Chip Design Academic Seminar is an event for 4 days with 600 visitors (200 foreigners) and the Korea Chemical Engineering International Academic Seminar for 3 days with 2,000 visitors (100 foreigners). According to Yeosu City, about 10 applications were filed at present with an initiation of the first MICE event of this year, MetLife corporate meeting and continued for asking the opening of 40 cases and application for preliminary survey.
The mild climate, nature gifted landscape with spread of 365 islands like jewelry, modernistic convention facilities and diverse tourism contents made big influence on the activation of MICE industry in Yeosu City.
Korean first city certified for MICE and representative maritime tourism resort city of Yeosu considered the MICE industry for new growth engine for the future and devoted its full strength to attract the MICE event from the beginning of the year with targets for developing the tourism industry and activation of local economy.

Especially, the specialized city brand of Yeosu Bay will be advertised by holding the own MICE events such as the Yeosu Forum, Island forum and resort city branded forum. Maximum 25 million Won incentives will support depending on the level of contributing to local economy activation at holding the MICE event with more than 150 registered visitors over 2 days and maximum 20 million Won will be sponsored for the meetings of small enterprises.
