That roundabout is the traffic hub and center point of the tourism where the tourists pass without missing to the Odong-do and Yeosu's night sea. City authority expressed 'the Yeosu inside the world rushing to 5 oceans and 6 continents on the round traffic island by containing the willing and vision of Yeosu World EXPO 2012. 3 coconut palm trees symbolizing the unification of 3 Yeosu planted at the center of the traffic island, photinia glabra around and 5 euonymuses and 6 gardenias symbolizing 5 oceans and 6 continents planted at edge. Coconut palm trees are ever green sub-tropical species not necessary for wintering care in Yeosu area and it delivers exotic feeling to the tourists. The photinia glabra surrounding palm trees, symbol of 3 Yeosu unification realized the flame symbolically adding the impulsive force of unified Yeosu City as its new buds are red. A city official told, "such centerpiece was figured to show the sprit and vision of Yeosu City", and " we will spread Yeosu's image of tourism and resort city to the visiting tourists by means of the exotic scenes of warm southern city."
