Yeosu City Honored in Two Straight Years as an Excellent City in the Hope Sharing Campaign

Selected as an excellent city in 2020 Annual Fundraising and 2021 Hope Sharing Campaign
On May 7, the city received a plaque of appreciation from the Jeonnam Chapter of Community Chest of Korea
Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) has been honored as an excellent city in the Hope Sharing Campaign for the second year following last year.
According to the city, Yeosu was selected as an excellent city in the 2020 Annual Fundraising and Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign.
The city raised the biggest fund for all twenty-two cities and counties even in the face of the difficult economic conditions due to the unprecedented infectious disease called Covid-19.
The 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign', which proceeded for sixty-two days under the slogan of 'Connect Hope through Sharing', including fundraising through 2020, received more than 1.1 billion won in donations in Yeosu City alone through active participation and sharing of all citizens, companies, organizations, and institutions.
Mayor Kwon O-bong said, “Even in the midst of the infectious disease that has thrown the world in disarray, the unchanging fulfillment of love for neighbors and the spread of a sharing culture by Yeosu residents cannot but be touching." The mayor continued, “I would like to express my gratitude to all who participated, and we will work harder to become a happy Yeosu through sharing and overcome the difficulties of the local community together.”
