Yeosu City Announces Social and Economic Vision, “Cooperative City Made by Citizens”

Arranges Social and Economic Ecosystem to “Leap Forward” as Social and Economic City Representing Korea
Last November 22, Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Ohbong) held a Vision Declaration Ceremony at Hidden Baby Hotel and declared the vision with social and economic fostering plans for “Cooperative City Made by Citizens.”
In the ceremony, 60 people including Mayor Kwon Ohbong, Yeosu City Council Chairman Jeon Changgon, councilors, intermediate support organization (Yeosu Social and Economic Village Support Center), and social and economic businesses participated.
In the first session, integrated fostering plans for social and economic ecosystem were suggested along with social and economic revitalization measures, sustainable measures, and vision declaration performance. In the second session, the participants had a round table for the effective communication and discussed about the facilitation techniques for social and economic businesses.
Yeosu Social and Economic Village Support Center inspected on the social and economic businesses for one month from June and established “Social and Economic Fostering Plan” for upcoming 5 years.
The 4 main goals were set to▲ Revitalizing social and economic startup and management ▲ Boosting networks between social and economic businesses ▲ Arranging social and economic city representing Korea ▲ Arranging the independent social and economic ecosystem.
Mayor Kwon said “The easiest way for citizens to participate in creating the cooperative city made by citizens is to purchase the social and economic business’s products that reflect the meaning of realizing the social values. We will try our best to settle the sustainable social and economic ecosystem in Yeosu based on the visions and plans we declared today.”
Starting in last February, Yeosu Social and Economic Village Support Center is working as the control tower for constructing the cooperative networks for social and economic businesses while discovering, fostering, educating, and consulting the social and economic organizations
