Two-Step Public and Civil Servant Evaluation Process

In December 14, Yeosu City announced that the approval on 2026 World Island Exhibition ranked the first place in “Top 10 Policy Performances of Yeosu in 2021.”
According to Yeosu City, total of 10 cases were confirmed after choosing 76 outstanding policies, selecting 20 cases in the written evaluation by the internal evaluation panel, and having online survey on 1,242 citizens and 1,146 civil servants from December 2nd to December 8, 2021.
2026 World Island Exhibition Yeosu will be held at Dolsan Jinmo District and island areas for one month starting from July 2026. The event will be boosting the local economy and developing the island industries
In addition, “Legislation of Special Act on Yeosu and Suncheon Case” after 73 years of waiting and wishes ranked the second place while “Construction of Yeosu-South Sea Undersea Tunnel” opening up the new era in the southern coat ranked the 3rd place.
“COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund of 250,000 won Per Person” ranked the 4th place followed up by “Organization of Particulate Matter Blocking Forest” for green urban rest area ranked the 5th place.
“3 Civil Globalization Campaigns” ranked the 6th place while “Vaccination Rate of 74%” ranked the 7th place. Moreover, “Winning Dispute over Yeosu (Jeonnam) – South Sea (Gyeongnam) Sea Boundary” ranked the 8th place followed up by “Fostering of Yeosu Corns as Agricultural Specialty” and “Opening and Management of Yeosu Youth Marine Education Center.”
Furthermore, “Winning Global Smart Tourism City Project” and “Winning Children’s Library and Living SOC Complex Project” also got high scores.
Yeosu City said “Although Yeosu went through tough times due to COVID-19, Yeosu City accomplished numbers of performances based on cooperation from citizens. In 2022, we will try our best to promote the high-quality projects for the citizens.”
