Yeosu City Starts to Pay Daily Life Recovery Subsidy of 200,000 KRW from the 24th of This Month
Application from the 24th of this month to the 25th of next month: application on the 1st week is carried out according to the five-group registration system based on the last digit of the year of birth
A prepaid card or Yeosu Sarang Voucher will be issued immediately upon applying to the local community service center of your address
Deciding on the Daily Life Recovery Subsidy of 200,000 KRW per person to all citizens and residents, Yeosu city starts to pay the Subsidy from the 24th of this month upon promptly passing the revised supplementary budget by the city council.
The city notes that the eligible recipients are citizens, residents, and migrants from international marriage with residence registered to Yeosu-city as of 0 hours December 27, 2021, costing 56.9 billion KRW to 282,000 people in total.
With the streamlined payment procedure, the prepaid card or Yeosu Sarang Voucher will be issued immediately upon lodging the application at the community service center in the locality of the resident registration. Prepaid cards can be used to receive income tax exemption by registering the card at the website, branch offices, and customer center of Nonghyup Card before starting the use.
The application period is from the 24th of this month to the 25th of the next month, and during the first week of the application from the 24th to the 28th, the five-group registration system based on the last digit of the year of birth is applied to prevent confusion.
The application can be lodged by a householder or a family member in the same household on the resident registration, and if not in the same household, a person of direct lineage or sibling can lodge the application as a proxy and receive all applicable subsidies. However, a housemate shall lodge an application separately.
Prepaid cards can be used within the Yeosu region by July 31 to promote consumption in the local economy and expand sales increase of small business owners, but cannot be used at adult entertainment establishments and online shopping malls.
Kwon Ohbong, the mayor of Yeosu, says “Yeosu city experienced crisis a few times due to COVID-19, but owing to the citizens and residents actively cooperating with the emergency stop of movement and complying with infectious disease prevention and control guideline, we were able to overcome this crisis wisely” and “I hope that the Daily Life Recovery Subsidy to all citizens and residents can become the foundation of revitalizing the local economy and the way back to the normal daily life.”
In the meantime, the city plans to accept 'Application Not to Receive Subsidy' from those wishing to refuse to receive the subsidy to additionally aid those with hardship due to COVID-19.
