Kang Sung Kook, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Justice, Delivers Appreciation Plaque to Yeosu City for Embracing Afghans
Delivered the Appreciation to Yeosu Citizens at the Meeting with Kwon Ohbong, the mayor of Yeosu on the 9th
Kang Sung Kook, vice minister of the Ministry of Justice visited Yeosu city hall on the 9th and showed appreciation to Yeosu citizens for their embracing Afghans warmheartedly prior to the Retirement of Afghanistan Special Contributors from Yeosu Korea Coast Guard Academy.
On this day, the vice minister Kang passed on the appreciation plaque to Kwon Oh Bong, the mayor of Yeosu, and commented “special contributors from Afghanistan and their families were able to adapt to our society smoothly because of Yeosu city’s active cooperation and the citizens’ hospitality and consideration.”
Kwon Oh Bong, the mayor of Yeosu, replied “we felt sympathy with special contributors from Afghanistan because they came to Yeosu when the Special Act for Yeosu–Suncheon Incident was enacted,” and “hope they can live the life in Korea by taking Yeosu as their second hometown.”
All 393 of the special contributors and their families from Afghanistan have entered Yeosu Korea Coast Guard Academy the last October for almost 4 months of adjustment education and retire from the academy on the 9th to reside across the nation.
