Located on 'Sunrise Hill of Jobaldo Island on the Yeosu Seom-Seom Gil' (Yeosu Bridges from Islands to Islands) linking 10 islands between Yeosu and Goheung
Operation in full-scale from April: offering tourism information center, specialty shops, food bank, café, and VR experience center
Yeosu city informed the opening of 'Yeosu's Island-to-Island Healing Center the Seom' established on 'Sunrise Hill of Jobaldo Island on the Yeosu Seom-Seom Gil' (Yeosu Bridges from Islands to Islands) in full-scale from April.
Equipped with a tourism information center as well as agricultural and marine products shops, a souvenir shop, food bank, café, and VR theater, 'The Seom' (island) has already become a tourism icon for many visitors as a multi-functional tourism amenities.
Visitors can shop wild stone seaweed, hairtails, Spanish mackerels, and mussels from Geomundo Island at the marine products store, pesticide-free barley sprout grown in Yeosu coastal area, instant popcorn made of corns from Hwayang-myeon at the agricultural products store.
The souvenir shop sells Yeosu postcards and eco-friendly handmade camellia soups and offers visitors to experience wood assemblies such as the Turtle Ship.
The Seom café sells health drinks using regional products such as a latte with sea breeze mugwort from Geomundo Island and citron-grape fruit drink (Yujamong) from Dolsan area at affordable prices.
Food bank for tourists looking for something to eat is also available, and offers spicy seafood ramen, a bowl of rice topped with hamburger steak for main meals, and hand-made oranda candy and sweet rice punch with autumn squash of Yeosu and others for dessert.
"With 7 out of 11 bridges linking 10 islands between Yeosu and Goheung completed now, many visitors come to Yeosu these days. In 2028, more bridges will be completed connecting Hwataedo Island of Nam-myeon, Wolho Island, Gaedo Island, Jedo Island, and Baegyado Island. Starting with the operation of 'The Seom,' Yeosu city will accelerate in establishing Island tourism infrastructure and content development." said a Yeosu city official.
In addition, 'The Seom VR Experience Center' operated free from the 1st day of the last month offers Yeosu's 10 Best Scenery for VR experience. The sessions are 5 minutes each of panoramic views from a hot-air balloon, roller coaster, and drone. Each session can be booked through the 'OK Integrative Reservation System' on the website of Yeosu City Hall.
