A total project cost of 4.4 billion won, including 4 billion won for Do… Remodelling and extension of 3 floors of Yeul Hospital in Ungcheon
Top-of-the-line facilities including 15 maternity rooms, family room, sitz bath room, sauna, skin care room, and terrace sky garden
In Yeosu-si (Mayor Jeong Kimyung), "Jeollanam-do Public Postpartum Care Centre" will be established.
The city announced on the 1st that it was finally selected in the contest for public postpartum care centre conducted by Jeollanam-do last month and secured 4 billion won for the project.
"Jeollanam-do Public Postpartum Care Centre" is a project for postpartum care and health promotion for mothers and newborns in the province (Do). It receives 4 billion won in facility costs (all Do expenses) and 200 million won in operating expenses annually.
The subject of the project is Yeosu-si Ungcheon-dong Yeul Hospital, and 3 floors (2nd, 5th, 6th) will be remodelled into a public postpartum care centre.
The city plans to invest a total project cost of 4.4 billion won, including the hospital's own budget of 400 million won, to complete the construction by next year and begin operation in 2024.
In order to create a premium postpartum care environment, 15 maternity rooms, infant rooms, and nursing rooms are installed on the second floor.
On the 5th floor, a family room, a sitz bath room, a terrace, and a sky garden path are additionally installed; on the 6th floor, a mother and child education room, skin care room, dry sauna, rest room lounge, and a terrace-type walking course are planned to be added.
In addition, the medical system space for responding to emergencies and infectious diseases will be expanded, advanced medical equipment will be reinforced, and the Metaverse virtual reservation system will be introduced.
Mayor Jeong Kimyung said, “A public postpartum care centre is one of the major pledges of the 8th municipal government elected by popular vote, and it provides the best postpartum care environment for mothers in our region." and “We will create a happy Yeosu where all citizens live well together by establishing a seamless customized welfare system from childbirth to old age,”
Meanwhile, "Jeollanam-do Public Postpartum Care Centre" began opening its first centre in September 2015 and is currently being installed and operated in 5 cities and counties in the province, and is popular for its excellent facilities, services and low cost.
