Ocheon/Icheon
A great spot to enjoy sunsets is the hill that juts out like a cape past Geumgangwon, a welfare facility in Yeosu. The sunsets here, blending the vast tidal flats of Ocheon and Icheon with the nearby islands, create a serene and awe-inspiring scene. Witnessing people working on the tidal flats using small, flat-bottomed boats is an added delight.
Gamdo
As you approach the breakwater, you’ll see a pebble beach in front of the village, with a pavilion standing by the seaside. From the breakwater, you can watch fishing boats working in Yeojaman. During the gizzard shad fishing season, the sight of boats unloading their fresh catches under the night sky is spectacular.
Imok
A favorite resting spot for white seabirds, this place naturally draws photographers to capture its charm. It’s also the best spot in Yeosu to catch the day’s last rays of sunlight. Known for its beautiful evening glow, it’s a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts.
Beolga
Located 2.3 km from Imok, Beolga is a port nestled at the foot of Iyeong Mountain. With its tranquil atmosphere, it has inspired many Yeosu painters to feature it in their works. The port is surrounded by islands like Jobal, Dunbyeong, and Jeokgeumdo, creating a picturesque backdrop.
